Samlen, 684 m
The view from Mount Samlen is spectacular. It is a hard and steep hike through rocky boulders and forest, marches and rock, but on the top, after about 1hr 30 min (depending on shape and experience in walking), all will be worth it.
We enjoy the view and listen to see if we can hear the raven's “Kah” on top. After taking a lot of pictures and eating a light lunch, we go back down, where we are picked up and driven back to Herand.

Meeting place:
We meet in Herand, where we are picked up by a minibus that takes us to Åsleite. The drive is about 15 min. We can also arrange pickup at Jondal ferry terminal.

Length and time:
5 km. About 3 hrs of hiking, depending on experience.
Suitable for:
People aged 10 and over who are in decent physical shape with experience from walking on paths (forest). The trip is unsuitable for pregnant women over three months, people with heart problems, and back or knee injuries.
