Epic crossing of the mountain from west to east! We walk in the opposite direction from the description you find online. This trip is weather contingent.
We go by car to Botsvatn, where we head up the sherpa steps and continue on the path marked by stone piles. The hike is 17 km long and very hard! Only for experienced mountain hikers with proper equipment (shoes, clothes and walking poles).
We are picked up at Reisete. If you wish, we can visit one or more sider farms for a taste of the famous Hardanger sider and perhaps with dinner at Siderhuset Ola K?

Meeting place:
We meet in Herand, where we are picked up by a minibus that takes us to Botsvatn. The drive is about 1 hr. We can also arrange pickup at Jondal ferry terminal. Upon arrival at Reisete, the bus will pick us up and return to Jondal/Herand. This drive is about 1.5 hrs.

17 km and approximately 7-8 hours.
Suitable for:
People aged 12 and over who are in excellent physical shape with experience from walking in the mountain. The trip is unsuitable for pregnant women over three months, people with heart problems, and back or knee injuries.
